The ancient rulers of Egypt tempt fate by trying to change the outcome of a prophecy that predicts their downfall. The prophecy tells of a baby who will grow to overthrow the Pharaoh (Paul Rhys), bringing peace to enslaved Hebrews while destroying Egyptian domination. The Pharaoh orders the massacre of newborn Hebrew boys as a preemptive strike, but one mother sends her son Moses (Dougray Scott) down the Nile in a basket to save him. He is found by Pharaoh’s wife and raised as part of the royal family. He has no memory of his family, but after many years he discovers his heritage and his duty to God to liberate his people with the aid of God’s omnipotence.
