Land of the Lost tells the story of scientist Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell). Years following an embarrassment on national TV cost him his job, he, along with Holly Cantrell (Anna Friel) and Will Stanton (Danny McBride) construct a time warp travel machine, sending the three into a parallel universe. When they arrive, they meet a prehistoric man named Cha-Ka (Jorma Taccone), and begin a journey to explore the world and attempt to return home. Along the way, they encounter a Tyrannosaurus Rex (which they nickname "Grumpy"), vicious creatures named Sleestalks, and an evil villain named Zarn who needs their time-warp machine in order to take over the world.
