Megan Paige (Eliza Dushku) is a Rochester Police Department detective who becomes involved in an investigation into the death of a young girl who was covered in cat hair. She is certain that it is the work of a serial killer, but others, including her boyfriend and partner Kenneth Shine (Cary Elwes), don't agree and she ends up dealing with some stress related hallucinations and mental illness in connection with the case. When she returns to the police department after two years of treatment with a group headed by Richard Ledge (Timothy Hutton) she is no longer an investigator, but when another series of murders follows the clues of the first girl she again becomes obsessed with the case. |
