Growing Up Is Hard

In this coming-of-age drama, popular 16-year-old high school student Vincent (Julien Baumgartner) excels on the swim team and dates a pretty girl named Moeme (Julia Maraval). His family, his teachers and his coach all love and admire him, but in one respect, he's misleading them all. This becomes all too apparent when Benjamin (Jeremie Elkiam) moves to town, and, seeing through Vincent's facades, pursues him. Vincent's classmates see the two of them together, rumors abound, and somebody completes the "outing" process by spray paining "Vincent is a fag" on one of the schoolyard walls The swim team ostracizes Vincent, his closest friends are angry about the deceptions, and his parents don't know what to say. Perhaps it's too much a for a 16-year-old kid to sort out by himself.

Jeremie Elkaim starred previously in Picture This' very successful gay romance COME UNDONE as a troubled young man coping with his sexuality. In YOU'LL GET OVER IT, he takes a role on the other side of the coming-out equation, that of openly-gay Benjamin. Elkaim's previous films include Stephane Kanzadijan's SEXY BOYS, a French take on AMERICAN PIE, and Catherine Corsini's THE VERY MERRY WIDOWS starring Jane Birkin.
