Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) is a detective assigned to the cold case department after the murder of his wife and baby. Three years after their deaths, he spends his days trying to track down the last killer that got away. When a beautiful, mysterious woman is murdered outside his apartment, Payne finds himself working with her sister (Mila Kunis) to find the killer. But when his former partner (Donal Logue) is killed, and Internal Affairs officer Jim Bravura (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) begins looking into Payne’s involvement, it becomes very personal. Now, with the police, FBI and a shadowy criminal group dogging his trail, Max has to find the killer before they find him. Based on the video game, the movie is dark and violent
