The story takes place in the Land of Malaria, where mysterious storm clouds have blocked out the sun and ruined the once prosperous farmland. The king comes up with a plan to have evil scientists develop monstrous experiments that they threaten to use on the rest of the world if they don't pay them money. In this society evil scientists are at the top of the social tree, and at the bottom are the forces slaves, the Igors. The main character of our story, Igor (John Cusack) doesn't want to be an Igor though, he wants to be an evil scientist. When Igor's mad scientist Dr. Glickenstein (John Cleese) days in an accident Igor lies to the king saying that Dr. Glickenstein is creating life, then takes his place. Along with the help of his two inventions Scamper (Steve Buscemi) and Brain (Sean Hayes) he is able to invent life, in the form of Eva (Molly Shannon). But things don't go easily for him, between the moral conflicts of whether or not he should be evil and the threat of the evil scientist Dr. Schadenfreude (Eddie Izzard) trying to steal Eva from him, things may not go as he planned.
